On a Spectrum

a game for revealing nuance

The spectrums turned out to be the hard part — I was handing people axes they hadn't chosen. So finding them became the game.

The group nominates the dimensions that matter, ranks its ideas along them, and watches a collective picture assemble. It ends with the group redesigning the game's own rules for the next round.

On a Spectrum ran at spectrum.holoscopic.io. The demo plays in your browser on a saved game; nothing you do is sent anywhere.
